How to resolve a Java Out of Memory alert

If you’ve subscribed to a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError alert, Clarity will let you know whenever a web instance runs out of memory. Follow these steps to help correct the error.


  1. Clarity email alerts include the type of log parse metric, the number of occurrences and the web instance involved. Use this information to log in to Server Manager and locate the correct web instance.

  2. Restarting corrects the error in most situations. However, you do want to check the out log for this instance. It may provide additional reasons the error occurred. 
  3. Restart the web instance, then verify you can log in.
